Hiking in the Namib Desert
Would you be interested in a hike in Namibia? Are you interested in a more active vacation in Namibia? Well as you probably know by now there are not many companies that cater to this.
Due to the heat Namibia is a tricky hiking destination. Chad Wratten has hiked around 3000km through Namibia. Feel free to click on his Blog link to hear more about it. He know the Namib well and could design a hike for you through our unique wilderness. We have led school groups, friends and work colleagues through Kaokoveld, Damara land, Spitzkoppe, Namib Naukluft national park and around the Sossusvlei area. We have a tented camp that we move daily or use as our base to walk the river beds and plains. At night your tent will be kitted out with camp bed, mattress, sleeping bag and pillow and dinner will be a braai around the fire. Namibia is also one of the world best places to see our night sky’s. We have an excellent backup team that will prepare your camp and food. We will also have a game viewing vehicle that will take you to your starting point and take you to points of interest during the heat of the day. This would not be a scheduled tour but would be specifically designed around your numbers and choice of area.
Some of our more popular hikes are around the Spitskoppe (+ – 20km) 5 days down the Horiseb river and up the Puros canyon ( +- 60km), Namib Naukluft National park. “Waterkloof trail 17.5km) and of course around the Sossusvlei and Deadvlei area. The fish river canyon hike is a 4/5 day self-guided hike but we would happily help you with logistics or a guide should you so require.
