Testimonial: Fantastic Damaraland Camino Experience

Apr 2026 • Friends

Ellen & her team gave us an amazing once-in-a-lifetime adventure on the Damaraland Camino. The trek is filled with spectacular beauty in the desert savanna where we spotted springbok, ostrich, oryx & other smaller animals. Ellen & her team (Steve, George & Reuben) took care of every detail to perfection — especially the food, which wasn’t easy for our group of 4 with 1 vegan, 1 vegetarians & one meat eater with a severe nut allergy. The food was delicious & plentiful & fuelled us for the hikes. Ellen is a knowledgeable & fun guide with an interesting life story. We do lots of multi day treks around the world & this one was A+.

Testimonial: Brandberg Bliss With Great Company

Aug 2025 • Friends

What can I say about my Damaraland Camino...

10s across the board, from start to finish!
Ellen and her team (Ruben, George, and Steve) absolutely knocked our 6-day experience (4-day hike) out of the park: three delicious meals each day; a freshly set-up shaded camp with a shower and lavatory tent waiting for us daily; and 15km treks through Damaraland’s breathtaking and varied terrains.

Kind-spirited and wonderfully prepared, Ellen guided us across rolling mountain-scapes, shared great conversation, offered valuable insights (about Namibia's animals + nature), and left us in awe beneath the starry skies.

If you’re contemplating exploring Namibia on foot, Wild Cherry Adventures is without a doubt the tour operator to choose.

Ellen, thank you for the most magical six days — immersed in nature, and beautifully offline!

Testimonial: Damaraland Camino and Brandberg Summit

July 2024 • Friends

Ellen, from Wild Cherry Tours arranged a superb trip for 8 of us. We were fetched from the airport and transferred to White Lady lodge at the base of the Branberg mountain. We walked for 3 days. Absolutely flat, about 15km/day. We started at sunrise, stopped for breakfast which was a sit down meal/camp in the middle of nowhere, and finished at lunch. We had superb cool weather of about 20C. We arrived at our campsite which had been set up for us and were served lunch. The afternoon was spent resting, chatting and reading. The nights were chilly. I loved the proper pillows that were supplied: new experience for a hiking/camping trip! The 3 days walking up the Brandberg were tough but manageable. We were joined by a German family, including two daughters: 13 and 11 yrs old. We camped on the mountain and the following day walked to the summit and back: 16km. We spent another night on the mountain. It is possible to do it with just one night on the mountain but I wouldn't advise it. The next day coming down (with a heavy back pack) was easier was still relatively slow. The night skies were remarkable as was the peace and quiet. We left all social media and worries of the outside world behind us. Thank you Ellen and your team.
