The Stonemen of the Kaokoveld
Hidden in the vastness of the Kaokoveld, far from any road or village, stand the Stonemen — silent figures built from rock, gazing out across the endless desert. No one really knows who created them or how many there are. Their presence feels both ancient and personal, as if they were left behind by the land itself.
Along our route, we’ll come across quite a few of these mysterious guardians, quietly watching over the valleys and plains. We won’t say too much — part of the magic is in the discovery. Some appear unexpectedly after a long, silent stretch of walking; others you might only notice when the light shifts.
They’ve become part of the Camino’s spirit — markers of wonder, of human creativity meeting wild landscape.
And perhaps, somewhere between them, you’ll feel that same quiet connection: to the land, to the walk, and to those who’ve passed before you.

Testimonial: Wonderfull hiking in Namib Kaokoveld
A very special hiking experience with Wild Cherry Adventures
I hiked the 200+ km Kaokoveld Camino with Wild Cherry-Ellen and her team.
This was a wonderful experience.
The beautiful landscape, the remoteness, bright skies and total silence.
Kaokoveld on foot, was just something different. I saw desert elephants , oryx's, springbok, plenty giraffe in waving grass not seen much in Namib. (Marien flush)
Nothing was too much effort for Ellen and her team, the served us with enthusiasm and joy. Wild camping with bush showers
and delicious food.
Ellen your love for nature, all animals, plants, birds etc is a inspiration to all around you.
Your bubbly personality get us out of bed with a smile every EARLY morning
I would like to join Wild Cherry adventures again in future.

Testimonial: Absolutely Amazing - A must for every hiker!
After last year's Kunene Camino, we decided that we definitely need to go back for the Kaokoveld Camino this year and so we did! The beauty of the Kaokoveld were breathtaking. Such an experience to see that part of Namibia as well and to our surprise we saw a couple of the famous stonemen!!!
The camino walks will be without a doubt not so life changing if it was not for Ellen and her team. Steve, George, Ruben, Uno and Ellen...thank you for giving us the time of our lives. Your passion in what you do for our hikers are highly appreciated.
We will definitely be back for more hikes with Wild Cherry Adventures😁
